Torpan Pojat - "Boys of the Croft"

Basketball Club Torpan Pojat was founded in year 1932. ToPo was originally a sports club of the school of Munkkiniemi and had different sports in its program. During 40's so called "basketball revolution" came and Munkkiniemi was the soul and heart of basketball. Since then, Munkkiniemi has been the centerpiece of Torpan Pojat basketball legacy, a tradition that has led ToPo to capture nine Finnish Championship titles and four Finnish Cup titles. First European Cup games were played during 60's, also in 90's ToPo played several European Cup games. Torpan Pojat is a very strong brand in Finnish basketball which everyone knows. In 2005 ToPo has the power of teenager and the wisdom of veteran. ToPo is the king of Helsinki and boys are back in town once again.

Today Torpan Pojat is one of the biggest clubs in Finland, having almost 500 players. Men's team brought ToPo and Helsinki back to the league in spring 2005, as well as did women's team too. A lot of effort has been put in to the junior teams as well. Torpan Pojat is once again one of the top clubs in Finland.
